Family Vacation

On Saturday we’re leaving for a little family road-trip to Colorado.  We’ve never driven that far with kids (and towing a trailer to deliver some furniture), so it should be an experience.  More than anything, I’m just excited at the opportunity to get the kids out of the city again.  The theme for our trip is “God made Everything!” so we hope to find some cool and unique things that God made during our travels.  We would love for you to pray for our time, that it would be restful and draw all of us closer to God as we spend this time away as a family, but away from our church family.

The reason I’m blogging about this, is that I wanted the excuse to share this short blog series on family vacations from C.J. Mahaney.  Even if you’re not a father yet, chances are you may go on some sort of vacation this summer, and these great biblical strategies for your vacationing can apply no matter what role you play in your family.  I would strongly recommend reading them, as they have shaped my own heart as we prepare for our 10 days away.

Numbers

I hope that you’ve been enjoying our brief series through the Torah as much as I have.  It’s so incredible to take the time to look back at God’s story and be reminded of the extent of His love, grace, and faithfulness.

Unfortunately, last week’s sermon on the book of Numbers failed to record, so we don’t have it available for download.  And, as a result, a few of you have asked for a copy of my notes so you can look over the outline as you approach the book of numbers yourselves.  So, I wanted to post my notes, which definitely are not the same as a sermon, but hopefully can be a help along the way.  So, here they are if you’d like:
